The Manager of MDM Transactional Operations oversees the processes and team responsible for maintaining transactional data within the organization’s ERP system. This role ensures product and vendor data are accurately created, updated, and governed to support critical business operations in finance, supply chain, procurement, and sales. The Manager drives operational excellence in ERP-related master data workflows, and partners with cross-functional teams to improve efficiency, accuracy, and compliance across the enterprise.

The Role’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead the ERP-focused MDM team responsible for creating and maintaining ERP transactable data.
  • Manage intake, prioritization, and execution of ERP master data requests.
  • Establish and enforce ERP-specific master data policies, validation rules, and standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure ERP master data complies with enterprise governance standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and resolve ERP data issues, including duplicates, missing attributes, and misaligned records.
  • Own the management of ServiceNow ticket queues, directing task assignments and driving accountability to team members to ensure accurate and timely completion.
  • Partner with MDM leaders in Taxonomy, Enrichment, and Governance to ensure ERP data consistency across all systems.
  • Define and track KPIs for ERP data accuracy, cycle time, and request throughput.
  • Serve as the primary liaison to enterprise regarding ERP master data operations.
  • Provide ERP training and guidance to stakeholders on proper data submission and request standards.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of ERP master data analysts.
  • Build a culture focused on data quality, accountability, and service excellence.

Skills

  • Strong understanding of ERP platforms (AS400, SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, etc.) and their master data structures.
  • Proven ability to manage high-volume ERP data workflows with speed and accuracy.
  • Dedicated to ensuring ERP data integrity and compliance with governance standards.
  • Skilled at identifying ERP data issues and implementing root-cause solutions.
  • Builds high-performing teams and promotes continuous improvement culture.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Supply Chain, or related field.
  • 5–7 years of experience in ERP data management or ERP data operations, preferably in a distribution, wholesale, or retail environment.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems (e.g., AS400, SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards) and integration with MDM/PIM/CRM platforms.
  • Knowledge of master data domains (product, customer, vendor, location) and ERP governance processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work across functions and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
