What you will do:

• Apply engineering techniques to assist in the improvement of manufacturing processes and products. 
• Provide technical support, operations experience, continuous improvement and project management skills in a plant support capacity that ensures safe, efficient and low-cost plant operations. 
• Independently handle complex issues, and plan and prioritize work to meet commitments aligned with organizational goals. 
• Assess current manufacturing equipment and processes, recommending improvements to be efficient and cost-effective, and to promote quality and reliability. 
• Ensure utilization of the most effective and efficient processes, focusing on continuous improvement. 
• Review key performance indicators monitoring systems, assessing how to improve their ability to maintain company operations. 
• Conduct training of personnel in equipment usage and processes. 
• Plan sequence of operations and specify procedures for cutting, crafting, and otherwise preparing basic material, exercise discernment in compromise between conflicting requirements, economic evaluation of methods, and operator effectiveness and comfort. 
• Establish and submit processing requirements to be met in designing and acquiring processing equipment. 
• Conduct tests and measurements throughout production to determine control over such variables as temperature, density, specific gravity, pressure, and viscosity. 
• Work with flammable and hazardous materials. Work with esterification and transesterification reactions.

 

Position Requirements:

• The position requires a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or closely related field.  
• The qualified candidate must have at least 5 years (60 months) of experience in a manufacturing engineer position or closely related occupation.
• The qualified candidate must also have at least 5 years (60 months) of experience with all of the following: (a) assessing manufacturing equipment and processes and recommending improvements to be efficient and cost effective; (b) supporting the industrial production of plasticizers, organic solvents, biodiesel and other oil-chemical processes; (c) conducting tests and measurements throughout production to determine control over such variables as temperature, density, specific gravity, pressure, and viscosity; (d) working with flammable and hazardous materials, and (e) working with esterification and transesterification reactions.
• All experience may be gained concurrently.
