The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly user-centric, strategic, and collaborative Senior Product Platform Designer to lead the end-to-end vision, evolution, and adoption of the design system for our digital product portfolio, with a primary focus on our flagship SaaS platform: InSight DXP. This role is directly responsible for building and scaling a best-in-class design system that incorporates modern user interactions, visual aesthetics, technical functionality, and accessibility standards in our design guidelines, patterns, and libraries. The design system will additionally serve as the shared language across design, product, and engineering – enabling teams to build high-quality products with speed and consistency.
This role requires a seasoned design leader with a proven track record of building and scaling design systems, driving adoption of design systems, fostering a culture of user-centricity, and driving impactful business results through design excellence. This is a unique and exciting opportunity for a hands-on leader who thrives on solving complex problems, driving innovation, and fundamentally shaping how users interact with Iron Mountain's digital products.
Responsibilities:
● Strategic Design System Ownership and Evolution
Develop and execute a comprehensive vision and strategy for the design system,ensuring alignment with business goals, product roadmaps, and evolving user needs.
Lead the design systems growth from the ground up, driving innovation and scaling its components, patterns, and guidelines for global adoption across the digital product portfolio.
Drive impactful business outcomes by delivering a system that enables teams to build high-quality, accessible, and consistent products with greater speed and efficiency.
Combine visual design, interaction design, and systems thinking to create intuitive, user-centric guidelines, patterns, and libraries that solve user problems and deliver delightful user journeys.
Develop and document new components and patterns, grounding all decisions in a deep understanding of our user personas, their journeys, and their needs.
● Cross-Functional Collaboration & Partnership
Partner closely with product managers, UX designers, and engineers to deeply understand user needs and product-specific requirements and ensure the design system is visually exceptional and functionally superior.
Establish and govern a clear contribution and maintenance model with engineering, making it seamless for both designers and engineers to use and contribute to the system.
Collaborate with engineers to define components and ensure the technical implementation of a component perfectly matches its design intent and accessibility requirements.
● User Advocacy & Accessibility Leadership
Champion a user-centric design process, grounding all design system decisions in a deep understanding of user personas, their journeys, and their needs.
