Data Governance Specialist

What professional requirements should you prove?

• A bachelor's degree in fields such as Economics, Computer Science, or Data Science.
• At least 3 years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management, or a related field, with extensive exposure to various categories of people, both horizontally and vertically within the organization.
• Having previously worked on either establishing a data governance framework or expanding/maintaining a successfully implemented one, as an individual contributor on at least one occasion.
• Ability to understand, analyze, and connect all parts of the organization (IT, business, operations, compliance, legal, etc.)
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies
• Got a certification in Data Governance/Data Management? That's a big plus!
• Familiarity with the financial services sector (insurance/pensions) represents an advantage.

What will be your responsibilities?

• Aligning with internationally defined standards within NN and creates and maintains local policies and procedures necessary for ensuring correct and compliant data management, ensuring their implementation at NN Romania.
• Offering guidance for key data roles within the data governance framework, sharing concrete best practices adapted to the maturity level and organizational size of NN Romania. Ensures all involved parties understand and respect their data governance responsibilities.
• Being responsible for the creation of business glossaries, data directories, and documenting data flows. This includes composing and maintaining comprehensive documentation to support data governance initiatives in order to ensure data consistency and understanding across the organization.
• Organizing the forum called "Data Governance Committee" and ensures that all decision points discussed in this forum are approved by the company's management and decisions are centralized.
• Establishing key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the effectiveness of the Data Governance structure and processes.
• Being responsible for developing and maintaining the data management backlog, including prioritizing of data management tasks, ensuring that data quality and governance initiatives are continuously improved.
• Collaborating with IT to integrate data governance tools and technologies, ensuring they support the organization's data governance framework.

Skills and Knowledge:

• Advanced PC skills (Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Proficiency in English.
• Knowledge of data governance and data management standards such as DAMA-DMBOK.
• Familiarity with data governance tools or platforms like Collibra, Talend, etc.
• A strong desire to learn and develop.
• Comfort in sharing knowledge.
• Creative and critical thinking skills.
