About the role

Head of Business Organization Readiness, Group Benefits

Reporting to the Head of Transformation & Business Modernization, this position will play a central role in the implementation of Guardian’s absence platform program, a high impact, cross-functional, strategic effort that will deliver a customer-focused solution in the marketplace.  You will work across all key stakeholders in Technology, Distribution, Operations, Claims, Product, Pricing, and Underwriting teams to ensure operational and user readiness for the delivery of changes.   

You Will:

  • Work closely with the Head of Transformation & Business Modernization to help lead implementation, including the operational plan, of the platform to support the Group business and monitor & manage business value delivery to operational areas.

  • Provide comprehensive consultation regarding short and long-term business requirements. 

  • Partner with key stakeholders to help develop and execute the go-to-market plan for the new capabilities

  • Proactively manage stakeholder expectations and pro-actively seek out solutions to potential issues and challenges through relationship building, timely and transparent communication and acute problem-solving skills

  • Provide both strategic and operational thought leadership over the program with the ability to lead and influence a wide number of stakeholders, as well as matrix teams and vendors. 

  • Understand the impact of change, develop communication, change management, and work with training leads to ensure training plans are in place. 

  • Monitor the execution to ensure adoption and minimal disruption to normal business operations and maximize adoption and minimize resistance. Identify potential risks and barriers to adoption and develop mitigation strategies to address them proactively. 

  • Delivers and supports business implementation planning/tracking/reporting ensuring visibility of activities required in order to deliver successful change.

  • Build people and teams through collaboration, actively seeking input and perspective from others, being an active listener, and celebrating success and failures as opportunities for improvement.

  • Create and deliver executive level presentations which communicate the objectives and status of the implementation

You Are

  • A thought leader and organizational change agent who will deliver on value-added solutions to advance the business strategy

  • Proven team player with a strong collaborative orientation; demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and partner across business groups

  • Exceptional communicator across multiple levels of an organization; works effectively in an environment to drive outcomes through others

You Have

  • 10-15 years of experience in Group Insurance with a deep understanding of leave and disability

  • Proven ability to influence horizontally and vertically across the organization

  • Program management and execution skills

  • Experience managing transformation programs

  • Ability to quickly grasp new concepts/requirements and related product/functional knowledge

  • Good negotiation, influencing and stakeholder management skills

  • Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work and partner across a matrix organization

Location & Travel:

  • Remote with some travel as business needs require

Salary Range

$155,750.00 - $255,875.00

The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
