Raytheon’s Naval Systems Department is seeking a Senior System Engineer to join our System Integration and Test team in Portsmouth, RI. The Naval Systems Department provides system engineering, integration, verification, and validation for numerous naval programs including surface ship, submarine, mine-countermeasure, torpedo, and missile launching systems. Integration and Test engineers are responsible for interconnecting subsystems, identifying and resolving system level issues that may stem from software or hardware anomalies, and developing automated or operator-driven tests in support of system-level requirements verification.
What You Will Do
- Contribute to successful technical execution of complex integration and test events.
- Prepare plans, procedures, test cases, and perform integration and test activities.
- Interface with both Engineering and Program Leadership.
- Travel possibly can exceed 20% (primary location).
- This role will be based out of Portsmouth, RI.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires Bachelors in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior engineering experience.
- Experience with integration, verification, and/or test.
- Experience with Ocean or Naval Systems such as: surface ship, submarine, sonar systems, torpedo, mine counter measure, UUVs
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Experience in MATLAB, TestStand, and/or LabVIEW.
- Experience working with the US Navy customer.
- Subject Matter Expert in Systems Integration, Verification, and/or Validation
- Master’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Math, Applied Physics, or Systems Engineering
