About the role

This is a new role to the Cell Therapy Clinical Opeartions team and offers the opportunity for a candidate to build on their project management skills in fast paced and highly matrixed environment.  As a Director, Data Analytics & Performance Management, you will provide project management support for the Head Study Management CTCO function. You will also manage and advance key information systems, including Aritificial Intelligence solutions implementation, reporting and processes for the Clin Ops function, and creating advance functionalities supporting decision making process and reporting within CTCO.  Also, you will help drive the leadership team of the CTCO function and will be responsible for managing, tracking and delivery of the business, resource and portfolio goals to maximize the ability of the function to deliver its portfolio of projects. 

This position will work cross-functionally with the entire leadership team and will work closely with the Development Operations and project teams as well as with the core business planning and operations team of broader AstraZeneca.

The ideal candidate for this role will be curious, creative, analytical with a natural leadership drive to bring solutions beyond immediate challenges.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide robust business information to senior leaders to support decision making.

  • Use, implement and/or develop new technology, including AI and practical solutions to simplify processes and improve how the function works.

  • Develop automated dashboards/reports to show study status and progress towards company goals.  Support development and maintenance of electronic portals for sharing of information and best practices. Train the wider organisation on how to get the best out of new automated processes and tools.

  • Stretegically create metrics that drive business change. Be the ‘data expert’ in Clinical Operations and provide business critical information to not only Senior Leadership within Clinical Operations but share Clinical Operations performance to Senior Leaders outside of Clin Ops as needed.

  • Work with colleagues to deliver MTP and other financial cycles using your business knowledge & data expertise. Ensure you champion new processes and tools that benefit simplification of processes.   

  • Work with collegues across TA’s (Oncology, Biopharma, rare) disease to scope out best practices. Work with IT and other teams outside of CTCO to and implement best practice solutions.

  • Strategically partners with broader AstraZeneca communications team to identify & deliver key engagements and events related to data analytics and AI implementation.

  • As needed, organize & facilitate CTCO team meetings, townhalls and other functional meetings.  

  • Support management of long-range planning, finances and resourcing for CTCO. Supports with key data for regular portfolio reviews for resourcing.

  • Partner with leadership team to create CTCO business plan and scorecard. Tracks delivery, produces performance updates and reports business data including sorecard and communications oversight.

  • Supports as needed monthly resource discussions to develop and agree plans to address priority resource shortfalls by reallocation of current staff, or through hiring of contractor workers, or permanent staff.  Will also support organisation of interviews and some parts of the onboarding process.

  • Support implementation of strategic goals for processes and data related solutions, change management and continuous improvement initiatives. 

  • Support business cases for strategic partnerships, if required.

  • As needed supports CTCO communication to share key achievements, new hires, contribution to strategic ommunication, through appropriate channels.

  • Provide functional input to any assessment of the ability to delivery the portfolio required by broader AstraZeneca groups.

  • Project management support of non-drug strategic initiatives that are a business priority.  Select responsibilities in support of such initiatives include: 1) organizing cross functional team meetings; 2) developing agendas; 3) drafting minutes; 4) following up on and closing out action items; 5) maintenance of centralized document repository (e.g. Box or SharePoint); 6) establishing regular communication with project team members, project sponsors, and key stakeholders; 7) identifying vendors and / or systems necessary for the successful completion of the project; 8) providing a central point of contact for project stakeholders, ensuring communication with correct personnel and at all levels of the organization; 9) influencing without direct reporting authority, must be able to lead and influence up as well as down the org structure.
