The department of Neurology has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Project Manager, Research Support to work at UHealth. The Project Manager, Research Support will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Stroke division’s research activities and sponsored programs. This position requires expertise in multicenter project management with a commitment to continual improvement in the process. The Project Manager will perform their duties for a large portfolio of federal and industry-funded studies, including the Florida Regional Coordinating Center for the Stroke Net Trials. Duties include overseeing pre and post-award matters, administrative review of new proposals, working with the satellite and clinical participating sites to ensure rapid implementation of regulatory reliance and protocol trial agreements, helping develop local budgets, submitting the necessary documentation to institutional regulatory bodies, and creating financial reports.  Knowledge of University systems, as well as Sponsor systems and portals.  Maintains effective communications and relationships with the department's research support team, faculty, and sponsors.

• Oversight of research portfolio, pre-award submissions and post award management, ensuring that scope, budget, effort, and quality are meeting expectations

• Provide guidance and leadership in applying to various funding mechanisms.

• Develop complex grant budgets, implement subawards, assist in the development and implementation of material and data use agreements, maintain consultant and service contracts

• Attend regular status meetings with principal investigators, to stay informed of relevant study developments and assist in overcoming obstacles as they arise

• Maintain working knowledge of university financial systems and grant e-submission systems

• Develop and maintain personal and team tools to facilitate timely completion of milestones

• Assist in performing clinical study budget feasibility, sponsor negotiations, liaising with service centers, internal and external invoice reconciliation

• Track federal grant expenditures and industry sponsored clinical trials revenues and expenses

• Act as liaison between the Florida Regional Coordinating Center for the Stroke Net Trials and other departments/centers/institutes as necessary for grant and contract administration

• Work closely with PI(s) and research support team in performing activities associated with pre-award submissions, grant setup and close-out (i.e., overseeing the payment of subrecipient invoices, carryover and no-cost extension requests, final financial reports, etc.)

• Maintain databases of deliverables and reporting requirements for all active research projects, proposal-related documents/information (biosketches, major equipment, facilities, etc.)

• Meet regularly with principal investigator(s), and protocol team leaders to review grants, data accuracy and overall project progress

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field

• Minimum 3 years of relevant grants experience

• Strong English verbal and written communication skills required.

• Ability to multi-task and work independently as well as on a team.

• Willing to work in a highly collaborative environment, on-site and remotely.

• Strong quantitative skills and ability to prepare and interpret financial reports.

• Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience and/or certifications may be considered.
