Group/Division

With over 40 years of semiconductor process control experience, chipmakers around the globe rely on KLA to ensure that their fabs ramp next-generation devices to volume production quickly and cost-effectively. Enabling the movement towards advanced chip design, KLA's Global Products Group (GPG), which is responsible for creating all of KLA’s metrology and inspection products, is looking for the best and the brightest research scientist, software engineers, application development engineers, and senior product technology process engineers. The Broadband Plasma Division (BBP) provides market-leading patterned wafer optical inspection systems for leading-edge IC manufacturing. Logic, foundry, and memory customers depend on BBP products to detect yield-critical defects for process debug and excursion monitoring at advanced process nodes. BBP flagship products include the 29xx and 39xx series which leverage Broadband Plasma technology to capture a wide range of defects with ultimate sensitivity at the optical inspection speeds needed for inline defect monitoring.

Job Description/Preferred Qualifications

As part of the HPC cluster product design team, you will work under the supervision of the lead systems design engineer to:

  • Improve KLA’s internal Python-based scripts related to the image computer infrastructure.
  • Automate and improve, build and test environments for various common repositories used by different programs at KLA.
  • Maintain build servers and associated docker containers, and fixing any issues that might arise.

The ideal candidate should have academic/industry experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Maintain or bring up Linux nodes or cluster
  • Knowledge of computer hardware components (i.e. SATA, SSD, NVMe)
  • Python and/or Bash scripting experience

Basic Requirements:

  • Students working towards a Master's Level Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science or related field
  • Experience using Linux
  • Command line skills – basic knowledge of the terminal using a shell such as sh or Bash
  • Scripting or programming experience in at least 1 language e.g Python, Shell, etc..
  • Ability to work as part of a technical team
  • Positive attitude and a strong desire to learn

Additional Desired skills:

  • Strong communication skills (written and/or oral).
  • Experience with ML/AI or parallelization is a plus.
  • Ability to containerize applications and deploy in Kubernetes cluster.
