Key Responsibilities:
- Perform in-process and final inspection of aircraft structures, including fuselage, wings, flaps, landing gear, and tail assemblies
- Inspect machined parts and sheet metal final assemblies
- Maintain inspection logs and write detailed inspection reports
- Verify structural and assembly standards, including holes, drilling, fasteners, gaps, shims, surface seal, torque operations, and general workmanship
- Review FOD (Foreign Object Debris), sealant quality, part damage, and ensure compliance with build sequence
- Ensure structures workmanship is up to standards (skin quality, fastener installation, missing or incorrect parts)
- Conduct SRL reviews and process structure-related discrepancies
- Investigate non-conformance issues and perform corrective actions as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- Aircraft Structures and Sheet Metal experience required
- A&P Mechanic with IA (Inspection Authorization) is highly desirable
- Level 2 Quality Inspector experience with mechanical and aircraft structures
- Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
- Strong understanding of work instructions and process flow
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Must be willing to undergo background check
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in product inspection within the aerospace industry
- Familiarity with in-process inspections and final assembly installations
- Ability to address non-conformances and propose corrective actions
- Experience with part damage assessment and quality control in aircraft structures
- Effective communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams
