About the role

As a Lead Researcher, you will be the promoting force behind our internal data integration tool, demonstrating a deep understanding of our employees' motivations and intentions. This role offers the chance to spearhead research initiatives across various product spaces, delivering insights that simplify complexity for our users, and inspiring stakeholders with compelling narratives.

As a User Experience Research Lead in our digital experiences team, you will be at the forefront of understanding our customers' motivations and intentions. This role provides an opportunity to lead research initiatives across multiple product spaces, delivering actionable insights that simplify complexity for our users.

Job Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with teams across Product Management, Design, Data Analytics, and Engineering to envision the future of data integration for JPMC clients and employees, influence product strategy, and lead the firm to deliver delightful, authentic, and personalized experiences.
  • Design and conduct strategic research studies, utilizing various research methods that produce compelling, impactful and durable insights that connect end-user needs inline with business goals.
  • Ensure research results are actionable and contribute directly to measurable user, product, and business outcomes
  • Collaborate within design teams (with other designers, UX researchers, and content designers) and cross-functionally (Product Management, Engineering, Market Insights, Data)
  • Deliver user research impact that informs strategic decisions in a complex environment.
  • Articulate complex research findings and recommendations to diverse audiences in a compelling and actionable way.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant research or design discipline (e.g., Interaction Design, HCI, Anthropology, Cognitive Science), certification from credible bootcamp or similar accelerated learning program, or equivalent work experience
  • 7 or more years experience in UX research, design research, or related field.
  • Expert research skills across all stages of solutioning (discovery, evaluative, iterative, etc) 

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills

  • Familiarity with banking and finance a plus
  • Portfolio or examples of past projects
  • Past experience in an information architecture role/environment
  • Understanding of Accessibility Guidelines and Inclusive Design practices
