Principal Emergency Management Officer

The Principal Emergency Management Officer supports the Southeast Washington (SEWA) ministries emergency management functions and coordinates activities of the Emergency Management Committee(s). The Principal Emergency Management Officer is responsible for utilizing the Incident Command Structure (ICS) for response to all drills and/or actual events. The Principal Emergency Management Officer is responsible for coordinating emergency preparedness activities for personnel and facilities within the SEWA service area. Key functions are identifying hazards and risks, coordinating exercises and drills, preparing after-action reports, developing and maintaining the Emergency Operations Plan (EOP), and providing quarterly or annual reports to include recommendations to the executive team on the state of emergency preparedness and the most pressing needs that require resources.

Shift Details: Full-time, 40 hours weekly, Day shift.
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Emergency Management, Police/Fire Science, Business or related field.
- Coursework/Training: Education or practical experience in Emergency/Disaster Management.
- Within 6 months (180 days) of hire: National Incident Management System (NIMS) Trainer certification
- Within 6 months (180 days) of hire: Complete ICS 300: Intermediate Incident Command System
- Within 6 months (180 days) of hire: Complete ICS 400: Advanced Incident Command System for Complex Incidents.
- 4 years Progressive emergency management planning and coordination.
- 1 year Supervisory or project/program management experience
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Emergency Management.
- 1 year Health care field.
- 1 year Writing and administering grants.
