Registered Nurse Supervisor, Clinical

About the role

The Clinical Nurse Supervisor is directly responsible to the Nurse Manager or Director to provide leadership and support for clinical and administrative duties. This includes but is not limited to project support, clinical perspective with committee involvement, administrative support and oversight of scheduling, audits, quality measures, policy and procedure and direct patient care as needed. The Clinical Nurse Supervisor provides continuity of leadership and is responsible for the evaluation and prioritization of activities to meet the demands of an unpredictable, multifaceted department on a daily basis.

 

Work Schedule:  40 hrs weekly / 1.0 FTE; Monday-Friday day shift, flexible day hours to meet department needs (i.e. 7am-3:30pm, 8am-4pm etc.)

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in Nursing and currently enrolled in a Baccalaureate degree program in Nursing with an established date of completion required.
  • Two years of clinical nursing experience required. Two years’ experience in nursing leadership (e.g. charge nurse, supervisor, etc.) or leadership position outside of nursing required.
  • Licensed as a RN by Minnesota Board of Nursing or has a Wisconsin RN License and Minnesota Boarder State Registry.
  • Current BLS from American Heart Association or Red Cross.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills and/or techniques.
  • Knowledge of principles of management and the change process.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability and desire to develop effective working relationships within and outside of departments supervised.
  • Knowledge of current nursing practices and techniques

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Nursing 
  • Clinical experience in area of specialty. 
  • Specialty Certification (e.g. CCRN, PCCN, CNOR, CPAN, CAPA, etc) 
  • Performance Improvement work
