Summary
The Accounting Specialist will perform a variety of general accounting and financial reporting duties. A qualified individual for this position requires excellent background and knowledge of accounting concepts and comprehension and adherence to policies, procedures while finding innovative ways to assess issues and recommend solutions. .
Duties and Responsibilities
A Qualified candidate would be performing following key roles but not limited to:
- Prepares journal entries and reconciles general ledger and subsidiary accounts; assists in preparing monthly financial statement.
- Coordinates the preparation of regularly scheduled and special billings.
- Calculates and prepares reimbursement billings and tracks receivables; reconciles monthly accounts receivable.
- Prepares audit schedules for external auditors and acts as a liaison between LG and auditors.
- Apply their working knowledge of AP, AR, GL, account reconciliations, financial reporting, inter-company accounting and program/job coasting.
- Communicate effectively to all levels of clients and management and must maintain and protect confidential financial information.
- Assists in preparing and filing annual financial statements.
- Assists with the preparation of the annual and mid-year budgets.
- Assists with fixed asset accounting.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Experience and Education Requirement
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance from a four-year college or university
- Bilingual in Korean and English is required.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant finance or/and accounting experience
- Must have a strong knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Knowledge of financial and accounting software applications (ERP).
- Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations.
- Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong computer skills are required, specifically Microsoft Office products, with SAP experience preferred.
