Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Hire, train, develop, and motivate warehouse personnel to follow procedures, meet high quality standards, production schedules, operations dept goals, and productivity requirements
- Establish and maintain documented procedures to define the following:
- Receiving, Material Movement and Storage, and Shipping
- Maintain data in compliance with SOX and regulatory controls including records for timeliness and accuracy of Inventory, Receiving and Shipping
- Study and correct issues related to FG, NPI, and SMKT storage quantities and shipped material
- Monitor inventory dollar value for all locations on a weekly basis and correct or report to the Manager when discrepancies occur
- Optimize operational efficiencies through capacity studies and review of workloads
- Drive elimination of waste to improve Water Spider Routes through PWIP, Receiving and Supermarket efficiencies and Packing operations
- Provide vision and direction to work group and drive training to Lean Material flow practices
- Ensure that optimal inventory levels of commodities are maintained to meet production requirements. Inform Purchasing if quantity exceeds in-house storage capacity
- Apply diagnostic skills to identify and employ strategies to effectively increase inventory turns while meeting shipment deadlines above expectations
- Ensure that company procedures, including SOX and FDA requirements, are implied and adhered to
- Accountable for managing employee training record completion and status
- Evaluate and provide annual performance feedback to direct reports along with interim counseling to ensure performance criteria are being met
- Implement Short-Term Problem Containment and Long-Term Corrective Action for Shortages and Missed Shipments
- Drive continuous improvement of current systems and processes and work closely with production planning and management to optimize the value stream opportunities
- Accountable for Cycle Counts of required locations per published schedules
- Performance to Budget
- Interface with and support: manufacturing, quality control, finance, planning, field service, and order management
Qualifications
Skill/Job Requirements:
- Minimum AA, BS degree or equivalent and minimum of five years experience in managing Warehouse activities and material flow in high and low volume, manufacturing environments.
- Significant computer experience including MS Office products and ERP systems, preferably SAP and Agile.
- Proven track record of being an effective Supervisor in a fast paced, high volume manufacturing company.
- Effectively manages task breakdown, helps keep individual contributors on task, player-coach, ability to step in and perform hard tasks.
- In depth knowledge of inventory control systems and processes and root cause analysis.
- Skilled knowledge of safety requirements and material handling equipment operation

- Demonstrated knowledge of Kanban systems and other Lean material flow practices preferred.
- Demonstrates concern for precision and thoroughness.
