Madison College is hiring an Associate Manager. This position is responsible for managing the daily business operations of the School of Technologies & Trades, including managing a team of administrative and student support staff, delegation of their work, onboarding, and training of new employees, class scheduling, and managing the school’s budget. This position also carries with it the responsibility for aligning all operational work with school, college, and system guidelines, regulations, and statutes. This position will prepare cost estimates for budget recommendations and development as well as submit justifications for budget items.

This is a full-time, exempt salary, 52 weeks per year position. Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. – 4:30p.m. This role offers the flexibility to perform some work remotely, with the expectation of in-office work four (4) days a week, subject to change according to Madison College policy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leads, supports, and develops teams to ensure accountability of organizational objectives and operational excellence. This includes effective deployment of human resources practices such as inclusive hiring, performance management principles, development opportunities, and employee support.
- Creates an inclusive, equitable, and supportive environment where everyone at the institution feels valued, respected, and empowered to reach their full potential.
- Manages, executes, and communicates the procedural processes related to course offerings, including scheduling and assignments, with the Dean, Associate Dean, Program Directors, and others. Manages, coordinates, and communicates scheduling strategy and implementation with cross-college and external partners (e.g., course scheduling at regional campuses, Continuing Education and Business & Industry courses).
- In collaboration with the Dean and Associate Dean, develops, manages, prepares, and administers School budget, including operational, capital equipment, enterprise, and grant budgets to achieve financial objectives for Technologies &Trades and the College.
- Develops, implements, and manages project plans; develops related work plans; troubleshoots project plans and implements solutions; evaluates program and project performance; plans, directs, and evaluates effectiveness of special projects and public relations activities in collaboration with the Dean and Associate Dean and other college leaders.
- Researches, collects, and analyzes a variety of complex data and information; ensures accuracy of information; and summarizes findings in applicable reports. Prepares, reviews, interprets, and analyzes a variety of complex and multi-faceted records, data, forms, schedules, calendars, surveys, and reports; makes recommendations based on findings.
- In collaboration with the Dean and Associate Dean, develops and maintains internal and external relationships; participates in/on a variety of meetings, committees, task forces to communicate information regarding services, programs, areas of opportunity. Represents assigned academic area on committee, advocacy groups, and/or other related groups.
- Identifies and leads collaborative process improvement activities to gain efficiencies and productivity within the school and/or throughout the district.
