Oversees, provides and recommends all fire and life safety equipment process, procedures and training on the property.

Adhere to any and all company and departmental policies, practices and procedures.

Contribute to a safe work environment, through compliance with established safety guidelines, identifying potential safety hazards, and reporting same to the appropriate person for proper resolution.        

Maintain a professional departmental, company and community reputation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Adhere to, standard operating procedures (SOP’s) and policies and procedures.
  • Check fire panels on property to see if any devices need cleaning or changed out.
  • Responsible for maintenance and preventative maintenance of all fire, safety equipment to meet all federal, state and local codes.
  • Set up schedule to clean smoke detectors located at the Resort.
  • Maintain and monitor HVAC and elevator interlock systems.
  • Weekly inspection of the water level on the water tank & check fire pump & engine block heater at the Resort and the pump room.
  • Weekly inspection check the fire pump at the Resort
  • Weekly inspect the fire suppression system in all kitchens, at the Resort.
  • Maintain documentation of all life safety system inspections.
  • Perform walk through with local Fire Marshal and Tribal Risk Management department.
  • Maintains a working knowledge and understanding of all rules, regulations and controls of the company.
  • Leads by setting a positive example to all associates.
  • Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular attendance record.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

AGE and GAMING:

21 years of age or above

Gaming property – Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license issued by the Choctaw Gaming Commission. 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High School diploma or GED required.  Three (3) years in the operation and maintenance of commercial fire alarm systems including hood fire suppression systems and auto door closure systems.

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be certified in Fire alarm system operation and inspection.  Certification in Edwards System Technologies (CM3) a plus.  Proven skills in training others in Fire Safety Systems, programs and standard operation procedures.  Knowledge of emergency shut-off procedures, gas valves, water shut off & sprinkler shut off and there locations must be able to show and teach others.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence. 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtracts, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense reasoning to a variety of situations.  

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Essential duties for this position include but not limited to the following: able to work within a variety of climates and outdoors under extreme conditions.  Safely lift and/or move up to ninety (90) pounds on occasions as well as walk and stand 100% of assigned shift.  Able to work off of ladders, scaffolds, or lifts up to 100 feet in height and work in confined spaces.   Repetitive bending, kneeling, stooping, pushing and pulling will be required throughout shift.  Exposed to hazardous cleaning chemicals.
