Compression Systems Engineering (CSE) is looking for a self-motivated and disciplined individual to join the Component Integrated Product Team (CIPT) as the Geared-Turbofan (GTF) High Pressure Compressor (HPC) Production Manager. This role is a challenging and rewarding career development or broadening opportunity for the right individual looking for a career in Engineering or Operations. This portion of the CIPT is in Phase 5, which focuses on service and support. The Production Manager:
- is a critical role within the CIPT and must be able to communicate to various disciplines such manufacturing, industrial, and assembly, as well as aerodynamics, mechanical design, systems, and structures.
- must be capable of understanding the challenging technical and Production requirements for the module as well as the business needs of the program in both OEM and MRO environments.
- will be customer-focused as well as focused on interacting with System Integrated Product Team (SIPT), Operations, Model Integrated Product Team (MIPT), and Integrated Product Management Team (IPMT) and all other levels of internal customers as well as CSE and our own CIPT members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Forecasting when production issues may occur due to shortages, Quality non-conformance (QN) closure rates, etc and highlight bottle-necks to HPC part throughput
- Meet with internal and external suppliers to ensure satisfactory plans to deliver at intended rate as well as represent HPC CIPT at Manufacturing & Vendor Corrective Action Boards (MCAB / VCAB)
- Status issues and resolution plans with CIPT, SIPT, Operations, MIPT, and IPMT for GTF programs
- Support CIPT in achieving Manufacturing Readiness (MRL) goals for all HPC parts and align with IPMT on priorities and coordinate strategy with Engineering Support to Operations leadership
- Provide recommendations on tolerance expansions based on QN history and ensure alignment of major decisions with CIPT leaders and technical leadership
- Work seamlessly with our MTU partner on the HPC front block, while protecting P&W IP as well as interface with IPT and program-level industrial leads across all mod centers for all GTF products
Basic Qualifications:
- BS in Engineering or Industrial Technology with 10+ years of relevant experience OR
- Advanced degree with 7+ years of relevant experience
- Travel expected to be ~15% including some international.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills
- Focus on results and the ability to drive tasks to completion
- Demonstrated effectiveness in working across functions, organizations, and all levels of management
- Working knowledge of continuous improvement principles (e.g., Failure Mode, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA), Standard Work, Customer Oriented Results and Excellence (CORE) Operating System)
- Knowledge and experience working within SAP
- Should be technically competent and able to communicate effectively upwards and downwards
- Able to coordinate between a diverse team of individuals.
