Position Summary:
The Manufacturing Engineer TFR (Taco Fall River) develops, evaluates and improves manufacturing methods within American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) standards. They utilize knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods and quality control standards. They plan and design manufacturing processes in the TFR fabrication plant and improve production methods by designing tools and fixtures for improved operation and throughput. They also coordinate all capital equipment purchases by researching, evaluating and recommending proper equipment needs to meet business objectives. The Manufacturing Engineer TFR assists in time and cost estimates as well as assists supervisors with new production techniques and troubleshooting rejected parts.

- Timely completion of all CNC programing needs for the production floor
- Successfully develop strategies to meet production needs on time per business objectives
- Timely completion of capital expenditure projects within budget
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Analyzes and implements improvements to materials and processes as well as cost-reduction initiatives.
- Researches, selects and coordinates the purchasing of capital equipment for the facility.
- Programs all cutting machines and CNC machines as needed.
- Leads and supports Lean activities such as Kaizen events and mistake-proofing.
- Solves or assists in solving immediate high-priority issues related to manufacturing output, quality, tooling, process, and material.
- Troubleshoots high-level machinery issues in conjunction with the maintenance department.
- Provides data and analysis of manufacturing activities to management, as well as data, feedback and support directly to Operators.
- Collaborates regularly with Supply Chain and Product Engineers.
- Assigns work to designers, technicians, engineering technicians, and machine shop personnel as required.
- Approves all new product designs and ensures they align with manufacturing capabilities.
- Provides design teams with estimates of facilities, equipment, capital and personnel requirements for new product designs. Evolves estimates into firm budgets as projects progress.
- Provides analysis, feedback and possible improvements in design-for-manufacturability.
- Transitions successful design candidates into full production via purchase and installation of new equipment, tooling, fixtures. Designs or assists with design and/or build of manufacturing and/or test equipment as needed. Provides test samples, performs or oversees pilot and initial production runs.
- Purchases capital equipment by vetting qualified vendors, ensuring they have appropriate specifications and overseeing the purchases.
- Designs jigs and fixtures for new and current products to speed manufacturing process and ensure consistent quality utilizing Solidworks.
- Creates factory layouts for all manufacturing processes utilizing AutoCAD.
- Programs all of the CNC plasma cutting systems for new parts and makes modifications to existing programs as needed.
- Creates PD Trak manufacturing plans for new products that include projected assembly process and rates, equipment anticipated, anticipated costs, anticipated personnel needed, etc.
- Designs or supports new product development, including new layouts or tools.
- Makes suggestions and design modifications to make a more cost effective and/or easily manufactured and assembled products.
- Reviews all new products through the engineering change order (ECO) process to ensure manufacturing capabilities and designs match the production capabilities.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing envi
