About the role

GEICO is looking for an accomplished, customer obsessed, and results oriented Director, Product Management to join GEICO's Acquire Product team.

 

As a Director, Product Management in Acquire, you will be responsible for translating business strategy into product strategy, developing compelling visions, and scoping discovery and delivery work that drives value for GEICO and our customers across the customer acquisition journey. You will lead other Product People Leaders and individual Product Managers focused on improving the customer experience, modernizing our sales stack, and leapfrogging the competition to grow market share.

 

Directors of Product Management are adept at operating in complex, matrixed organizations. They are masters at connecting dots across the company and influencing new ways of working through proven methods. They have an MVP-mindset, can lead a portfolio that spans multiple strategic initiatives, and understand how to coach and guide teams across product discovery and product delivery cycles in order to create innovative, sustainable and customer-centric solutions.

 

When new initiatives emerge, they understand how to scope portfolios of work, design high-performing teams, & influence structural changes to accomplish scalable solutions. They can manage up, down, and laterally across functions and stakeholders to build momentum and drive outcomes.

 

When new teammates join, they coach and develop them quickly. And when the team needs support, they are comfortable rolling up their sleeves to do the work.

Location:

This is a hybrid position, requiring on-site presence for 3 days a week (if within 1 hour from location) at one of the following locations:

The ideal candidate is excellent at:

  • Translating business strategy into product strategies that include a clear value proposition, a compelling problem-solution fit hypothesis, and sequential strategy focused on accomplishing business objectives

  • Identifying & implementing effective, modern customer acquisition strategies in insurance, financial services, or adjacent industries

  • Managing a portfolio of 3+ strategic initiatives that span multi-year objectives

  • Defining scope, designing teams, & implementing just enough process and structure to empower and enable high-performing teams that deliver impressive results on a regular basis

  • Coaching and mentoring Product Managers/partners during product discovery and product delivery through the use of repeatable templates, frameworks, and processes

  • Synthesizing business, market, and platform data to identify opportunities, size them, and turn insights into requirements;

  • Authoring & delivering presentations/artifacts used to influence and align executives, peers, teams and stakeholders; (ex. Stategies, Vision, Roadmaps, Features/Epics, Progress Updates, etc.)

  • Leveraging & influencing the adoption of modern architecture & technology frameworks that scale products from 0 to 1 and beyond

  • Evaluating trade-offs and negotiating requirements with Compliance Teams, Business Teams, Tech Teams, etc.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • 8+ years’ experience in product leadership positions with proven record of accomplishment
  • 6+ years in Agile product management
  • 8+ years of experience creating Consumer or Associate facing products
  • 6+ years managing all aspects of a product feature throughout its lifecycle from concept to delivery
  • 4+ years leading, mentoring, and coaching product manager
  • Bachelor's degree

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • High sense of accountability and strong problem-solving skills 

  • Experience using quantitative and qualitative data to inform design decisions and drive change 

  • Passion for coaching and mentorship 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

  • Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills to influence across the organization 

  • Insurance industry experience preferable, not required 

  • Agile certifications preferred (i.e., SAFe, Scrum Alliance, Scrum.Org, ICAgile, PMI-ACP) 

 

 


 

Annual Salary

$128,000.00 - $224,000.00
