Where you will work:

This position offers fully remote work from anywhere in the US or a hybrid work option (up to 50% remote) from any of our office locations in Illinois, Minnesota and Wisconsin.

The contributions you will make: 

This position enhances the profitability of the RuraLiving mortgage program on a national basis. The incumbent identifies and develops partner relationships with banks, credit unions and non-depository mortgage lenders.

A typical day: 

  • Coordinates, executes and grows all aspects of the RuraLiving mortgage program to enhance the profitability of the Home Mortgage Services portfolio.
  • Researches, identifies, prospects and develops relationships with prospective brokers, commercial and community bankers and authorizes contracts and agreements.
  • Manages those ongoing relationships and activities.
  • Aggressively markets the RuraLiving mortgage program services, establishing new market relationships which contribute toward attainment of Compeer’s goals and business objectives.
  • Maintains a prospect file, creates ongoing prospecting plans and activities, and commits to individual sales goals for both loans and related services; accomplishments include sales closings, positive client/partner relations, community recognition, and generally contributing to the Compeer’s image as the leading financial institution committed to borrowers.
  • Remains informed of short- and long-term market conditions, lending trends, and other developments within the mortgage lending industry.
  • Actively networks with other industry professionals and is involved in professional organizations.
  • Serves as a resource and primary trainer/educator for program approved banks, credit unions and bankers regarding the RuraLiving mortgage program, processes, and requirements.

The skills and experience we prefer you have: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, agriculture or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Expert-level experience in the financial services industry. 
  • Advanced knowledge of mortgage industry processes, regulations, and verbiage.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Strong listening, written and verbal communication skills, with ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.
  • Skill in developing and maintaining interpersonal relationships.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications, Salesforce, SharePoint and Mortgage Lending Operating Systems (TPO Connect or Encompass).
  • Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) license preferred.
