Summary
The Sr. Manager Business Development is a critical role on our practice marketing team with a mission to elevate the business generation activity of our firm’s strategic and leading-edge, cross-disciplinary practice groups. Experience with Intellectual Property and Technology is a plus. The Sr. Manager Business Development partners with other teams in the Marketing Department, including communications, events, business development, administrative and executive team members, to achieve business objectives.

Responsibilities
Capitalize on and clearly articulate the group’s differentiators and align with the group’s growth objectives.
Manage data-driven, integrated client targeting initiatives that deliver results against strategic priorities.
Understand key business issues our clients are facing, market dynamics, and competitive strategies to improve the development of messaging and go-to-market strategies.
Collaborate closely with the practice and sector marketing team and leadership to enhance awareness of the firm’s capabilities and success, inside and outside the firm.
Lead client targeting efforts and manage lead generation from campaigns as well as business development pipelines.
Write marketing collateral and business development content, leveraging a strong knowledge of practice capabilities and the practice’s value proposition.
Manage targeting efforts and sales pipelines for the various marketing initiatives.
Drive an effective strategy for achieving awards and directories’ recognition that reflects the practice group’s capabilities and successes on behalf of clients.
Create quarterly impact reports.
Assist with planning practice meetings and retreats.
Provide input to marketing budget to align with sector group priorities.
Measure and track results of marketing programs and report on ROI

Desired Skills
Previous law firm experience preferred. Self-starter, with accomplished critical thinking skills and an understanding of the value proposition of practices and sectors in a sophisticated global law firm. Understand client needs and execute against strategic marketing plans and campaigns that are reflective of issues that are driving the need for legal services. Strong project management experience to execute on the various special projects for cross practices and sector initiatives. Possess the ability to plan strategically, execute tactically and have a client service focus; ability to analyze data and use multiple of sources information to develop solutions and recommendations; and strong writing and communications skills. Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Strong writing and presentation skills. Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and data analysis skills.
Minimum Education
4 Year / Bachelor's Degree
Marketing, Communications, Business or related field.
Minimum Years of Experience
8 years' sales/marketing experience in a professional services environment.
