Bedrock Learning, Inc. (https://thebedrock.co) is revolutionizing adult continuing education for enterprises that touch the world across the public-private sector divide. Its main product is an enterprise SaaS social learning network that offers coursework, games, and informational streams that are all inherently collaborative. We aim for Bedrock to contribute to a more secure and prosperous world by improving how a wide variety of professionals learn, think, decide, and act. And we aim to empower those professionals by ensuring that what they do in our social network counts toward career advancement.

This is your chance to join an early-stage startup (as our second hire!) and to help design our products from the beginning.

We’re looking for a full-stack web developer with a strong record of front-end implementation (please note that this does not mean we are looking for someone who is strictly or primarily a front-end developer). The person we hire will have an outsized impact on the look-and-feel of our software products as well as the foundational technologies and engineering processes our company adopts.

We have a well-developed prototype and a defined product roadmap, but there’s still a lot of greenfield development to be done. This is not a job maintaining legacy code! We’re looking for folks who are comfortable building new systems from the ground up.

Requirements

The ideal candidate for this position:

• is an engineer with 4+ years of experience building web software in a professional setting. (This is not a junior-level role);
• has proven expertise in React and/or Typescript;
• can deliver features across the front end, the back-end API, and the database;
• has proven experience creating enjoyable, functional, and attractive user interfaces and experiences;
• is able to work collaboratively as a part of a small team while still being able to handle his/her work with a great deal of autonomy;
• can help us define our engineering best practices and build a solid technical foundation for our growing engineering team;
• believes in the power of the Age of Lifelong Learning;
• has the right to work in the United States
• and is interested in growing into a leadership role within the company.
