About the role

Description

The Security Training Program Manager (Training Manager) will provide training support to the Memorial City Security Department by developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive safety and security education and training programs for all Security Ambassadors. The Training Manager will report directly to the Director of Training & Compliance (DTC) and will work with cross-functional team to identify training needs, design engaging training materials, develop training plans, and deliver effective training sessions while using a diverse array of teaching strategies and instructional models to enhance employee skills, knowledge, and performance.   


Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Collaborate with the Director of Training & Compliance, Security Leadership, and other key stakeholders in designing and implementing comprehensive training programs ensuring each are engaging, interactive, and reflective of the latest industry practices and trends.
  • Compares individual knowledge and skills with job standards, and identifies objectives to meet academic, vocational, technical, and MetroNational standards. 
  • Assist in managing and leading through departmental and organizational change, particularly in adapting training programs to meet the shifting needs of MetroNational and its employees.
  • Deliver effective training sessions in various formats as required/directed (Instructor Led, Hybrid, and Virtual/Webinar) ensuring high levels of engagement through diverse instructional techniques for each format to enhance security awareness and knowledge.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels to ensure training aligns with MetroNational goals, guest service standards, core values, and compliance standards.
  • Work with the Director of Training & Compliance in maintaining, managing, and processing the MetroNational LMS platform including but not limited to the department’s learning and development activities, training records, etc. 
  • Strategically plan with the Security Schedule Coordinator in scheduling training events and sessions to ensure effective use of resources while minimizing unnecessary overtime and not compromising integrity and value of training subjects.
  • Work with the Director of Training & Compliance and members of the MNCares team to conduct New Hire Orientations for new Security Ambassadors.
  • Collaborates with key leadership in the development of short and long-range goals for the planning of education and training courses and programs consistent with operational demands and requirements. 
  • Maintains current knowledge of site requirements, Security Ambassador training, applicable industrial standards, best practices, and regulations for local, state, and federal levels. 
  • Evaluates and validates programs and instruction through evaluations and surveys and provides recommendations to correct deficiencies.
  • Conduct ongoing training needs assessment to determine the most cost-effective method(s) to deliver training and recommend the instructional design, method, media, and resource needs, including revisions, to enhance and improve training initiatives.
  • Creates materials such as exams, quizzes, and other tests to measure individual abilities, comprehension, and knowledge retainment while maintaining standards in managing and upholding the integrity of testing materials and procedures.
  • Coordinate with the Security Manager – Administration to ensure Texas Private Security Bureau (TxPSB) licensing is maintained and required training standards are met. 
  • Manage inventory of training resources (i.e., books, supplies, etc.) ensuring readiness for all training activities in addition to records of training session or event attendance, withdrawals, completions, and costs.
  • Maintains liaison with vendors and outside agencies with training activities, scheduling, or supporting training requirements. 
  • Other duties as assigned, performed in an effective, timely and professional manner.

Requirements

  

Education and Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree is required with a degree focus in Education and Training, Learning and Development, Human Resources, or Organizational Development. 
  • Minimum of 5 years of previous experience in a training management, coordinator, or facilitator role, ideally within a security-focused and guest/customer service environment. 
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of proficiency in project management, instructional system design (ISD), developing and managing eLearning, hybrid, and in-person courses, and curriculums. 
  • A working knowledge in security operations, administration, asset protection, site management, and other related industrial areas to retail and office settings is preferred.
