Summary of Position:
The Vice President of Investments will be responsible for overseeing and leading all aspects of the Company’s investment management operations. This includes capital markets strategy, portfolio management, investor relations, and forming new strategic joint ventures. The VP will have direct oversight of a small, high-performing team of analysts and associates and will collaborate with senior leadership across the company, including national development teams. The role will require active involvement in strategic decision making processes, driving business growth, and ensuring comprehensive investor communication and compliance.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
• Serve as a key member of the leadership team alongside the Head of Investments, overseeing all facets of the investment management business, including managing an existing portfolio of multifamily investments nationally. Lead the identification, evaluation, and formation of new joint venture partnerships, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic goals.
• Manage, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of analysts and associates. Cultivate a culture of collaboration, excellence, and professional development, ensuring team members are consistently supported and aligned with business goals. Foster a dynamic, inclusive, and growth-oriented team environment.
• Work closely with the Head of Investments and senior management to develop capital markets strategies, including securing debt and equity financing for new and existing investments. Take a hands-on approach in structuring transactions, developing financial models to evaluate capital structuring options, and leading negotiation efforts to secure favorable terms.
• Collaborate with regional development teams to evaluate and assess development budgets, underwriting models, and financial forecasts for new development opportunities. Conduct comprehensive sensitivity analysis and financial modeling, ensuring that investments align with the company's risk and return profiles.
• Actively contribute to the Investment Committee process, providing strategic insights on underwriting, market conditions, and investment feasibility. Analyze investment decisions and share valuable feedback with senior leadership and stakeholders.
• Oversee all aspects of the due diligence process for equity and debt closings. Lead efforts in managing external advisors, coordinating with legal teams, and ensuring all necessary documentation and compliance standards are met for successful closings.
• Lead investor communications throughout the entire investment lifecycle, ensuring timely, transparent, and accurate reporting. Proactively engage with institutional investors to provide performance updates, investment summaries, and strategic insights. Ensure adherence to compliance and regulatory reporting standards.
• Oversee the creation and timely delivery of investment reporting materials, including offering memoranda, monthly and quarterly reports, and investor communications. Analyze performance across all investment sectors and develop actionable insights for senior management to guide future investment decisions.
• Lead in-depth market and sub-market research to identify emerging trends and opportunities within the multifamily real estate sector. Maintain a comprehensive understanding of national and regional market dynamics to inform investment strategy.
• Monitor and evaluate investment performance against predefined KPIs, ensuring the achievement of targeted returns and overall growth of the company’s portfolio.
General Overview of Compensation & Benefits:
• We reasonably expect the base compensation offered for this position to range from $150,000 - $200,000 annualized, subject to adjustment based on business-related factors such as employee qualifications, geographic pay differentials (e.g., cost of labor/living, etc.), and operational considerations.
