About the role

The Senior Research Analyst will support Aledade’s revenue estimation process by enhancing accuracy of existing estimates and improving our forecasting ability. This will require analyses that leverage rich data sources including national Medicare claims, CMS public use data, and other CMS- or payer-provided data products. They will work cross-functionally with partners across the company to surface insights on revenue estimation and support recommendations for improvement. 
Primary Duties:

Understand the problem space:

  • Work with teams across Aledade and external partners to understand and clarify questions and issues for data analysis and experiments.

Design and execute analyses:

  • Design descriptive, predictive, and/or causal inference statistical analyses to answer key business questions.
  • Design and program code to integrate, evaluate, and analyze diverse data sources.
  • Perform data analysis and statistical modeling to generate actionable insights and solutions. 
  • Support junior colleagues in programming and model implementation.

Translate and communicate analysis results:

  • Work across teams at Aledade to synthesize results, identify implications of analysis results and translate findings into action.
  • Lead development of analytic products that accurately communicate insights from the data and inspire action. 
  • Work closely with engineering and other product partners to enable analytic solutions.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 6+  years of relevant experience. Advanced degree may substitute for some experience.
  • Experience with SQL for data manipulation and R, Python, or Stata for statistical programming
  • Experience with healthcare data sources such as medical or pharmacy claims, electronic health record, event notification, clinical, and patient reported data, and working in a complex enterprise data warehouse

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters in business, finance, public health, or actuarial training, with an emphasis on data analysis
  • Excellent quantitative analysis abilities, grounded in econometrics, health services research, epidemiology, statistics, or related field
  • SQL fluency
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct nuanced analyses to produce accurate and unbiased results and tell the story of those results in data visualizations, presentations, and reports.
  • Attention to detail, particularly with version control (e.g. Git), quality assurance, documentation, and building repeatable processes
  • Project management experience
  • Knowledge of standard methods for measuring health care utilization, spending, quality, and related outcomes
  • Familiarity with value-based care, specifically the Medicare Shared Savings Program
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage competing deadlines and priorities.
  • Values people with differing backgrounds and perspectives; supports effective interpersonal and intercultural engagement
  • Well-versed in Equity and Inclusion language, concepts, and principles (i.e. health disparities, social drivers of health, implicit bias) and able to communicate and explain them to larger audiences
  • Committed to serving teammates and patients with empathy and respect
  • Ability to manage research projects through the entire life cycle, from design through implementation, documentation, and presentation of findings
  • Ability to work closely with senior leadership and work with colleagues in departments across Aledade
  • Thinks beyond their immediate team and contributes to making Aledade holistically better (active engagement in employee resource groups, DE&I initiatives, book/journal clubs, facilitating training, leading roundtables, etc.)
