Job Summary
In this role, you will oversee the public relations activities of the department, coordinate all aspects of the lesson registration process, and provide general administrative and office support to students, faculty, and staff within the music department. Additionally, you will extend your support during the Summer Music Festival, ensuring smooth operations and effective communication throughout.
Responsibilities
- Events Support and Publicity: Coordinate promotion of concerts and other programming with departmental production team, including design of posters and programs, social media, newsletters, website updates, and other marketing communications to optimize engagement.
- Private Music Lesson Administration: Manage registration for 250+ students each semester, coordinating enrollment management, student financial aid, and instructor payroll while maintaining FERPA compliance.
- Departmental Support: Perform general administrative duties, including managing facilities requests, office supplies, master schedule, answering phones, greeting visitors, and assisting faculty.
- Summer Music Festival Support: Contribute to administration of Summer Music Festival, serving as a point of contact for attendees and guest artists as well as creating programs and other publicity for events.
Minimum Qualifications
Some college/associate degree plus a minimum of two years of related experience to include event scheduling and promotion; Experience in musical settings in roles such as, but not limited to, performer, educator, or patron with ability to demonstrate musical literacy; proficient with computer software to include Microsoft Office Suite; experience in a position that requires excellent written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree; Experience with website content management systems and email marketing platforms, Canva, Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, AdobeSign; Familiarity with standard practices for naming and organizing musical works and performers across a range of traditions; Copyediting and/or experience proofreading documents for public distribution.

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range:
- $20.44 to $24.31 per hour
