Alpha Omega is seeking a qualified Sr Data Modeler for a remote position on a Federal program in Arlington, Virginia.

Seeking a highly skilled senior Data Modeler to join our team and play a critical role in designing and implementing data models that support insurance premiums and data integration. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and technical skills and have experience working with relational and non-relational data structures.

Key Responsibilities:  

• Design and develop logical and physical data models that meet business requirements.
• Work closely with data architects, analysts, and business stakeholders to gather and understand data needs.
• Translate business requirements into conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
• Develop and maintain data dictionaries and metadata repositories.
• Optimize data models for performance, scalability, and data integrity.
• Ensure compliance with data governance and security standards.
• Collaborate with database administrators to implement and maintain databases based on models.
• Support data integration and ETL processes with model-driven structures.
• Perform data profiling and analysis to validate data quality and integrity.
• Document data modeling standards and best practices.

Required Qualifications:

Education:            

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent field

Experience/Skills:

• Federal Client requires US Citizenship.
• Greater than 7 years of experience as a Data Modeler.
• Advanced knowledge of networking concepts, object-oriented technology, data warehousing, and relational database engines; Advanced proficiency in analytical, project planning, negotiating, interpersonal, and communication skills (written and oral).
• Proven experience in data modeling (conceptual, logical, and physical).
• Proficiency in data modeling tools such as ER/Studio, ERwin, SQL Developer Data Modeler, or similar.
• Strong knowledge of database technologies such as Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra) is a plus.
• Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, star and snowflake schemas.
• Experience with ETL processes and data integration tools.
• Excellent communication (written and oral) and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in Agile development environments.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their data services.
• Understanding of data governance frameworks and data privacy regulations

Salary and Benefit Information:

The likely salary range for this position is $95,072 - $146,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position and could fall outside of this range.
