About the role

Job Description

We are looking for a responsible Project/Sr. Project Manager to administer and organize all types of projects, from simple activities to more complex plans, on the Bath Iron Works DDG(X) Design and PLM (Product Lifecycle Management)/CAD (Computer-Aided Design) implementation team. Project Manager responsibilities include working closely with the Management team, HII, software vendors, and other departments across BIW to prepare comprehensive action plans, including resources, timeframes, and budgets for projects. You will perform various tasks, like schedule and change management, along with administrative duties, like maintaining project documentation. To succeed in this role you should have excellent time management and communication skills, as you’ll collaborate with internal teams to deliver results on deadlines. Ultimately, the Project Manager's duties are to ensure that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet high quality standards.

 

Typical responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Formulation, execution, and management of small to medium projects.
  • Process mapping and problem solving to increase quality and efficiency of work.
  • Data analysis and data visualization using PLM tools for the DDG(X) program, Microsoft Office, JIRA, and others as necessary.
  • Define outlines, agendas and content for and lead relevant workshops with partner Shipyard and software vendors.
  • Liaising with Designers, Engineers, Procurement, Planning, IT, Manufacturing, and others to identify   and define project requirements, scope, and objectives.
  • Coordinate project management activities, resources, and information across the program.
  • Assign tasks and assist with schedule development and management.
  • Identify the need and conduct Root Cause Analysis as required.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, plans, and reports.

 

Required/Preferred Education/Training

  • Bachelor’s or Associates degree in Business, IT, or technical field required.

Required/Preferred Experience

  • 5 years of related business, technical management, planning, or engineering experience required.
  • Ability to read fabrication/installation construction drawings.
  • 3D/2D design and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) experience preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Expertise with Microsoft Office, especially Excel & PowerPoint required; experience with MS Project preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Project Management fundamentals required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work multiple priorities.
  • Periodic travel is expected.
  • Ability to obtain a Security Clearance is required.
