Status: Full-Time
Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts per week; clinic hours are 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM, seven days a week
Compensation: $60–$80/hour (based on experience) + bonus
Benefits: Full benefits package available
Position Summary
We are seeking a Full-Time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team in Dallas, TX (Lakewood). This role is ideal for clinicians who value variety, autonomy, and meaningful community impact while practicing in a fast-paced, well-supported urgent care environment.
Candidates with at least one year of urgent care or emergency medicine experience are strongly preferred.

You’ll be supported by experienced clinical teams, strong peer relationships, clear practice guidelines, and accessible medical leadership who provide real-time guidance and mentorship. The work is engaging and varied, with a broad patient population and generally low-acuity presentations.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages in an urgent care setting
- Manage acute illnesses, injuries, and occupational health visits
- Order and interpret diagnostic studies, including labs and imaging
- Perform urgent care procedures such as suturing and wound management (as applicable)
- Communicate diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions clearly
- Document patient care accurately and efficiently in the EHR
- Code and bill services appropriately
- Maintain productivity consistent with urgent care benchmarks
- Practice in alignment with NextCare clinical standards and values
Required Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted Texas license as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
- NP: ANCC or AANP certification (FNP required)
- PA: NCCPA certification
- Active DEA license (or ability to obtain)
- Ability to treat patients of all ages
- Active BLS certification
- EHR proficiency
- Willingness to work occasional weekends and holidays
- DOT certification required or willingness to obtain (fees covered)
Preferred Qualifications
- At least 1 year of urgent care or emergency medicine experience
- Strong procedural skills (suturing, splinting, wound care)
- Experience with initial x-ray interpretation prior to radiology over-read
