Job Description

Location: Oklahoma City - 3017 N Stiles Avenue

Salary: up to $32.69/hour, based on education and experience

Full Time /Part Time: Part-time

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday

Primary Hours: 8-5

Basic Purpose

Positions in this job family are responsible for providing children with diagnostic and therapeutic services in the area of Occupational Therapy.  Services are provided in the client’s natural environment, which are settings that children typically spend time; for example, home or child childcare.  Occupational Therapist IV is the leadership level where incumbents are assigned responsibility for developing and implementing an occupational therapy program at an assigned location to insure that required treatments and activities are provided to individuals and groups. The Occupational Therapist IV duties include direct supervision, responsibilities and the ability to evaluate the work of other Occupational Therapist. 

Typical Functions

  • Plans, conducts and evaluates occupational therapy treatment/intervention activities in the child’s natural environment.
  • Makes recommendations concerning standardized treatments/intervention based on developmental indications.
  • Completes child assessments concerning developmental, educational, and social skills/abilities.  Participates in family interview.
  • Develops a treatment plan to address areas of need including routine based activities, neuro-motor and sensory-motor function/activities and child/family coaching and education sessions.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of the Individualized Family Service Plan according to state and federal guidelines.
  • Participates in the assessment, design and fabrication of adaptive equipment and orthotic devices.
  • Evaluates the child’s response to treatment/intervention and makes recommendations on changes in treatment as required.
  • Maintains records concerning treatment/intervention provided, including both subjective and objective data. 
  • Participates in a multidisciplinary team to assist in the development of the IFSP.
  • Participates as a direct supervisor to other Occupational Therapist and Occupational Therapy Interns during their fieldwork experience, with the ability to evaluate, direct and supervise the work of others.
  • Being present at the office is an essential function of the office.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Level Descriptor

This is the leadership level where incumbents are assigned responsibility for developing and implementing an occupational therapy program at an assigned location to insure that required treatments and activities are provided to individuals and groups. This includes direct supervision responsibilities and the coordination of program requirements between units and with other divisions.
