The Department of Emergency & Military Affairs (DEMA), led by The Adjutant General, provides emergency management and military capabilities to the citizens of Arizona and the nation. The Emergency Management Division consists of three sections—operations, preparedness, and financial administration. Each section works collaboratively across the agency and with external partners to manage emergency responses and reduce the impacts of disasters. Additionally, DEMA is the headquarters for the Arizona National Guard, the primary combat reserve of the United States military. The Arizona Army and Air National Guard provide military forces and equipment to accomplish community, state, and federal missions.

Job Summary:Under the supervisory control of the Ordnance Operations Manager, EMC serves as the single point of contact for all Directorate of Operations equipment maintenance activities. EMC Coordinates with the department personnel, contractors, support services, etc., as needed to ensure all vehicles, tools, and equipment are properly maintained. Schedules for, and maintains a listing of, scheduled cyclic and recurring vehicle, tool, and equipment maintenance requirements. Consolidates multiple reports from both external and internal departments, contractors, and support services, etc., to deliver a single audit status summarizing reports on the overall condition of vehicles, tools, and equipment. Updates the Ordnance Operations Manager on status of vehicle, tools, and equipment maintenance at least weekly, or as directed by the Ordnance Operations Manager. Participates in the inspection, minor maintenance, services and repairs of vehicles, tools, and equipment as appropriate. Coordinates both internal and external escorting of department personnel, contractors, support services, etc., technicians for the access of maintenance or equipment storage facilities. Monitors warranty programs to ensure compliance with manufactures guidelines. Ensures equipment is serviced and repaired by qualified personnel pursuant to current SOP's and contracts. Equipment Maintenance Coordinator (EMC); as a fully qualified and certified crew member in Conventional (Conv.) Operations; capable of performing all tasks related to the safe and efficient shipping, receiving, storage, inventory, housekeeping, and other related duties for Arms, Ammunition and Explosive (AA&E) commodities. AA&E normally consists of (but is not limited to) Small Arms Ammunition, Pyrotechnics, Small Rockets, Assorted Hazardous Material items (referred to as Conv.Ops). EMC also performs similar duties with Non-Hazardous Materials such as asset support stocks, equipment, and other customer related commodities. EMC is responsible for meeting and maintaining all Job Summary items listed, as well as those responsibilities inferred or implied by the position of an EMC. EMC must follow orders, explicit and implicit, as commensurate within their current Training, Qualification and Certification Level, as directed by Managers, Supervisors, and/or Trainers, in order to accomplish departmental tasks, goals, and objectives. EMC is responsible for helping to maintain a work environment that is safe, professional. EMC is responsible for adhering to, and enforcing, all safety rules and regulations. EMC will perform support equipment maintenance as required to meet customer mission. EMC will coordinate with Navy and Air force Crew Chief on equipment repair and services. Actively participates in promoting a continuous improvement workplace culture, through the use of teamwork, root cause problem solving, standard operating procedures, and review of performance metrics.
Performs work within the Ammunition Storage Area (ASA) which will place the individual within the Explosive Safety Quantity Distances (ESQD) Arc of a Potential Explosion Site (PES).
Responsibilities include:
• Serve as the Equipment Maintenance Coordinator (EMC) for the Ordnance Operations Department. Serves as the liaison and Equipment maintenance contracts and compliance monitor for the Ordnance Operations Department and The Resource Manager. Crane Monthly, Quarterly and Annual coordination with contractor and Crew Chief's.
