Job Summary

The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) applies knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) methods to help patients living with intellectual or developmental disabilities, especially those with Autism Spectrum Disorders and works with patients with other developmental disabilities. Works to alter a person’s behavior and employ a systematic approach to help those they serve to develop better social and life skills; consistently implements the behavior plan with integrity while collecting data. Works under the supervision of a BCBA and will receive mentorship to develop growth in the field of ABA.

Pay Range

Minimum $25.46 Midpoint $33.73 Maximum $42.01

Rate of pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, education, as well as position requirements.

Experience

* Required: Minimum one (1) year of experience working with children with developmental disabilities using Discrete Trial Teaching (DTT).  

* Preferred: Experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders in patient’s home and/or community setting. Experience working with individuals with moderate to severe aggressive behaviors.

Education

* Required: Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Education, Social Work or related field.

* Preferred: Master’s degree in Psychology, Education, Social Work or related field.

Licensure

* Required: Successfully passed RBT competency assessment. 40-hour training covering the RBT Task List (as required for RBT credential).

Work Environments - Functional Demand:

Sedentary - Very light energy level Lift 10 lbs. box overhead. Lift and carry 15 lbs. Push/pull 20 lbs. cart.
