About the role
<h3>Your Responsibilities</h3>
<p>We are looking for a new colleague to join our Finance/ Accounting Team in Berlin, Potsdam or Hamburg on a full-time basis/ 40hours a week starting as soon as possible. <br/><br/><strong>Key Activities & Responsibilities:</strong><ul><li>Assure high level quality of reporting to the group or other stakeholders (e.g. Management Accounts) </li><li>Take responsibility for the general ledger and balance sheet</li><li>Preparation and filing of annual financial statements according to local GAAP requirements</li><li>Preparation and filing of statutory reports (VAT declaration, statistical reports) and preparatory work for tax consultants</li><li>Support IFRS conversion projects</li><li>Plan overall general ledger and with Finance Director/CFO</li><li>Ensuring proper adherence to the existing regulatory frameworks</li><li>Coordinating annual group and statutory audits</li><li>Support managing the month end closing and balance sheet reconciliation processes </li><li>Main contact person for auditors and related consultants</li><li>Monitor accounting data and provide technical advice to the team</li><li>Drive automatization and harmonization of systems</li></ul><br/><br/></p>
<h3>Your profile</h3>
<ul><li>Successfully completed business and administration study with a mayor in accounting </li><li>Minimum of 5 years of experience (preferably combined in both audit and corporate environment)</li><li>BIG4/audit experience is a plus</li><li>Strong experience with German statutory account preparation and filing is a must</li><li>Experience with ERP and related systems e.g. Consolidation</li><li>Very good knowledge of HGB accounting rules and good IFRS knowledge</li><li>Independent, structured and goal-oriented way of working </li><li>Resilient and able to manage multiple stakeholders</li><li>Highly organized project management skills and the ability to take the initiative, prioritize and manage multiple concurrent workstreams</li><li>Ability to communicate complex matters clearly and concisely to non-finance colleagues</li><li>Ability to engage and influence others, working with colleagues in the operating entities and cross-functionally within the head office </li><li>A continuous improvement mindset, with the ability to identify and deliver process improvements</li><li>Outstanding problem-solving skills and a resilient, can-do attitude</li><li>Excellent German and good English skills</li></ul><br/> <br/><br/>
