Job Summary
Summary<br>Under general direction and according to established procedures and specific instructions, install, repairs or performs preventative maintenance on a variety of mechanical or plumbing equipment and hospital systems<br><br>Does this position require Patient Care?<br>No<br><br>Essential Functions<br>-Regularly installs, repairs, maintains and performs preventative maintenance on a variety of mechanical, electric, electronic, plumbing and other hospital systems and equipment, according to established procedures and equipment specifications. <br>-Makes assigned or emergency repairs to equipment, medical center buildings, grounds, facilities, or systems, within specified time frames. <br>
-When required, makes adjustments to the facility's heating plant to ensure proper operation of equipment and adequate steam distribution for sterilization and occupant comfort. <br>
-Employs proper plant procedures to ensure the desired amount of heating and cooling, fuel efficiency, water levels, and chemical ratio. <br>
-Makes scheduled tours of hospital facilities to inspect and monitor mechanical, plumbing, or electrical equipment in assigned areas, and takes necessary corrective action to ensure equipment is maintained in safe operating condition. <br>
-Cleans, greases and lubricates equipment, changes filters, belts, and other replaceable parts as needed. <br>
-As requested, performs routine plumbing work such as unclogging toilets, sinks, drain lines, and repairing or replacing faucets, shower heads, toilet seats, etc. Always uses the proper tools for the job. <br>

High School Diploma or Equivalent required

Licenses and Credentials
Experience
related experience in building maintenance 1-3 year preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams and equipment specification; experience operating various power tools.
- Knowledge of equipment repair, installation.
- Preventative maintenance and knowledge of boilers preferred.
- Experience with MS Office and computers.
