The Safety, Health & Environmental (SHE) Professional - Contractors, Security, and Training is responsible for contractor safety management, site security, and competence/training management. The key focus areas of the role are:
- Keeping our contractors safe and ensuring their compliance to dsm-firmenich SHE and Security requirements by having a consistent in-the-field presence, and providing feedback/evaluation of contractor performance with the contracting companies and internal dsm-firmenich stakeholders.
- Managing and increasing the capability and competency (through training and training programs) of all employees on site, enabling them to complete their job tasks in SHE and Quality compliant manner and ensuring site training is in compliance with dsm-firmenich SHE Requirements, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and all regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for on-boarding employees and Contractors to the site and ensure proper orientation and SHE training is conducted for every individual before allowing the start of work.
- Analyzes the site’s training needs and addresses these by coordinating, designing, and developing effective training; this includes identifying potential outside resources to address needs.
- Review security risk assessment and develops/maintains basic security plan in line with DSM security requirements.
- Ensures compliant safety behaviors from all contractors inclusive of but not limited to: asbestos awareness, fire extinguishers, confined space awareness, electrical safety hazard communication, HazWoper, First Responder Awareness, LOTO, personal protective equipment, RCRA Hazardous Waste Training, SHE Orientation, spill, and pollution prevention.
- Identifies contract management deficiencies issues and proposes solutions for approval. Ensures effective contractual document retention and control.
- Evaluates and ensures the effectiveness of training and the overall training program.

You Bring:
- Associates Degree or higher in relevant field of study
- 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment; with experience collaborating with contractors, subcontractors, maintenance crew and engineering personnel; 2+ years of experience in a role ensuring contractor compliance with safety requirements.
- Experience organizing, developing, and facilitating training delivery and program development with experience in chemical plant preferred.
- Strong supervisory skills including listening, coaching, counselling.
- Knowledge of applicable OSHA compliance standards; prefer completion of 30-hour OSHA standards course.
- Knowledge of typical contractor licensing and compliance requirements.
- Strong computer skills: SAP, MS Office, Excel and PowerPoint; knowledge of IS Net contractor management program preferred.
