About the opportunity

The Sr. Director, Construction and Customer Operations is tasked with being a ‘Leader of Leaders’ for our build and operations teams at Ting Internet, at the heart of our growth. As the leader in this role, you will shape our deployment approach, responsibly deploy significant amounts of capital, and implement our ambitious build plans in the United States, with direct responsibility for construction and field operations.

What you'll be doing:

• Lead teams in developing and implementing construction standards and processes for civil and fiber optic network construction.
• Collaborate and work closely with cross-functional teams to plan, forecast and complete a complex multi-year construction plan.
• Guide teams in creating and applying templates and procedures to supervise and communicate the progress of construction projects.
• Partner with government and public affairs staff to achieve required licenses, franchises, and approvals to support expansion goals.
• Collaborate with Controls to accurately track, forecast, and accrue CAPEX
• Act as Key Collaborator in all vendor sourcing efforts by co-leading/collaborating with Supply Chain team in the development of Requests For Information (RFIs) and Requests For Proposals (RFPs), Master Service Agreements (MSAs).
• Evaluate potential or existing sites or structures for development/construction potential.
• Develop plans for new-build or renovation projects, solicit and review bids, select and negotiate with contractors, and assist with the contracting process.
• Conduct periodic site visits, ensuring that projects are completed as designed, in compliance with accepted plans and specifications, and on time and within approved budgets.
• Lead and direct the work of other employees and have responsibility for personnel actions including hiring, performance management, and termination.
• Provide supervision to a number of Construction and Operations Managers.
• Provide strategic direction to planning and expansion efforts.
• Own large-scale construction partnerships and vendor relationships across markets.
• Help define and create a truly new kind of telecom company.
• Provide oversight and grow our build efforts and operations in existing markets, as well as scaling rapidly to new markets across the US.
• contractors to convey the latest company news, policies, and changes.

What you'll bring:

• 15+ years managing residential fiber deployment and front-line customer facing team members or equivalent.
• Experience growing and scaling teams in a high growth environment through strong hiring and talent retention.
• Success in managing and completing large multi year construction contracts.
• FTTH Outside plant construction and maintenance experience.
• Proven vendor and materials management experience.
• Strong stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent leadership skills, entrepreneurial spirit and communication skills.
• Knowledge of last mile operations/delivery models.
• Experience with Order management tools.
• Strong at Conflict resolution and de-escalation.
• Advanced problem-solving skills.
• Managing to and being accountable for metrics.

A little more about you:

• Knowledge and experience of FTTH construction project management best practices,
• PMP certification or equivalent preferred
