If making a positive impact on hundreds of millions of learners, tens of millions of teachers and thousands of education technology companies globally excites you, this is the right place. <br/>While this role is posted for Madrid, we are a remote-first company and are open to hiring this talent anywhere in Europe!   <h3>What you’ll do:</h3> <ul> <li>Develop and implement technical efforts to design, build, and deploy microservice-based systems at the direction of lead architects, including large-scale data processing, computationally intensive statistical modeling, and advanced analytics. </li><li>Participate in all software development life cycle aspects for solutions, including planning, requirements, development, testing, and quality assurance. </li><li>Troubleshoot incidents, identify root causes, fix and document problems, and implement preventive measures. </li><li>Educate teams on implementing new cloud-based initiatives, providing associated training as required. </li><li>Employ exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to see and solve issues before they affect business productivity. </li></ul> <h3>Requirements </h3> <ul> <li>Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.  </li><li>Experience 7 to 10 years designing, developing, and implementing distributed systems on cloud platforms. </li><li>Strong Java Developer with skills in Spring Boot/Kotlin </li><li>Strong experience and expertisein building RESTful web services. </li><li>Excellent understanding of Microservices and how they are designed. </li><li>Understanding of Cloud technologies, including AWS </li><li>Understanding of Cloud Native and 12 Factor Principles </li><li>Understanding of TDD, BDD and other development techniques </li><li>Strong experience working with RDBMS (Postgres and/or MySQL) and NoSQL databases, such as DynamoDB/Redis </li><li>Proven ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams of business analysts, developers, data scientists, and subject matter experts. </li><li>Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members. </li><br/>Nice to have: <li>Understanding of CircleCI. </li><li>Understanding of AWS CDK. </li><li>Understanding of Cloud security fundamentals along OAuth 2.0/JWT guidelines. </li></ul>Merlyn Mind is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
