Job Description

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

The role of the registered nurse is unique and essential to the care of the patient. The nurse demonstrates that unique and essential function through the framework for nursing practice.

Qualifications

Required:

  • ADN or higher nursing degree (i.e. BSN, MSN) or upon hire, have a signed learning agreement to enroll in a BSN or higher program (timeframe to enroll varies by hospital)
  • Graduate of an accredited school/college of nursing
  • Current State of Illinois, Registered Professional Nurse license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR through American Heart Association.
  • Analytic ability (conceptual and quantitative)
  • Oral, listening and written communication skills
  • Strong human relation skills to interact effectively and collaborate with others in difficult situations
  • Use of a keyboard to enter or retrieve data

Preferred:

  • BSN or higher nursing degree
  • Experience in specific clinical area
  • Nursing specialty certification, if eligible
