AffiniPay is looking for a Data Scientist who can build tools that help people make smarter decisions and provide more value to our customers.  As a Data Scientist you will work with a team of data engineers, analysts, and product managers to design, implement, and maintain machine learning models and predictive analytics.  In this role you will also work closely with the AI team to determine how we can integrate AI tools and functionality into our product roadmap.

Your Day-to-Day:

• Convert business problems into technical data problems and solutions in collaboration with product/business stakeholders
• Work with product engineering to ensure implement-ability of solutions; deliver prototypes and production code as needed
• Identify gaps in data and work with data, product, & engineering to fill gaps in data tracking
• Build and experiment with modeling and scoring algorithms.
• Devise and implement methods for adaptive learning with controls on efficiency, methods for explaining model decisions where vital, model validation, A/B testing of models
• Devise and implement methods for efficiently monitoring model efficiency and performance in production
• Integrating models and solutions into production data flows

About You:

• Strong background in computer science, electrical engineering, statistics, econometrics, operations research, or signal processing
• Strong programming skills in a scripting languages such as Python and proficient in other languages important to the ETL data pipeline (e.g. SQL, PySpark, Hive etc) 
• Experience building solutions using a variety of modeling techniques (logistic regression, Naïve Bayes, SVM, decision trees, neural networks, etc)
• Experience working with AWS technologies in a cloud environment
• Experience building and deploying models into a broader ecosystem of technologies and services
• Located in Austin, Texas

Preferred Experience:

• Experience programming in Java 
• Knowledge of building end to end ML systems and deploying them to operate at scale
• Experience integrating models into streaming data flows
• Experience with Natural Language Processing
• Familiarity with one or more deep learning software frameworks such as Tensorflow, PyTorch
• Exposure with topics in Fintech and or the legal industry
