Job Description

About Buildings + Places: 

Our Buildings + Places practice includes architecture, interiors, building and system engineering, urbanism, and planning (inclusive of landscape design), strategy +, economics, technology solutions, asset advisory, and cost and program management.  This diverse team assists our clients from strategy through project realization, creating positive outcomes for those who occupy and use the buildings and environments we help to create.  Our California studio focuses on the Commercial/Corporate, Science and Technology, Higher Education, and Federal market sectors.  We look to combine beauty, sustainability, resiliency, equity, and innovation in our projects and believe these values can be instilled in any project regardless of size or budget. 

Some of our recent projects include tenant build-out spaces, a water reclamation office building and lab facility, a Joint Public Safety Training Center, Package distribution warehouses, and cutting-edge scientific research facilities. 

AECOM is seeking an Electrical Intern to be based in the Orange, CA office.

This position is expected to begin in June 2025.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Support technical design (will be exposed to design work)
• Provide support to internal project managers and engineers by assisting with project administration
• Assist with the preparation of design review presentations with MS PowerPoint
• Attend review meetings, keep minutes, and record action item tracking worksheets
• Perform or support design verification and checkout activities

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• Candidates must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree or higher in electrical engineering, or a related field and must have completed at least one year of study. Candidates who have recently graduated with a bachelor’s degree and plan to continue with the master’s degree are eligible to apply for these positions.  Recent graduates must have been enrolled in their bachelor’s degree in the most previous school term with an interest in pursuing an advanced degree in the same or similar discipline at the conclusion of the internship.

Preferred Qualifications:

• MS Project skills
• AutoCAD
• Knowledge of electrical design, power distribution system and relay protection
• Basic knowledge of electrical components and characteristics
• Advanced level of Excel and Word skills are required
• PowerPoint experience required
