JOB SUMMARY:
The Lead Auditor is responsible for successful coordination of activities in the department while maintaining complete confidentiality and professionalism. The position is responsible for advanced accounting functions in addition to learning, communicating, and training various policies and procedures required of the staff.
KEY JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Performs advanced accounting functions regarding gaming revenue audits.
- Reviews and performs daily gaming audit functions, which include reconciling, analyzing, recording, and summarizing numbers and reviewing documents for proper completion. In addition, performs account reconciliation’s and prepares various taxes.
- Key communicator with operation department manager to ensure correct operating procedures are adhered to in accordance with the internal control standards.
- Provides superior guest service, positively affects interactions with guests and team members, and has the resiliency to deal with difficult guests in all types of business conditions and the ability to work effectively and courteously with fellow team members.
- Completes assigned gaming audits on a timely basis, including understanding of systems as they relate to the various audits.
- Completes balance sheet reconciliation’s and prepares month-end journal entries.
- Responsible for compiling, reviewing, and distributing the daily operating report and daily tax filing to the State.
- Performs month-end journal entries to record revenue and expenses.
- Balances all gaming related balance sheet accounts.
- Acts as back-up for all functions of the department during heavy volume periods.
- Works closely with operation departments to ensure internal compliance guidelines are followed.
- Demonstrates superior customer service.
- Be flexible in working shifts, lunches and break times. Adhere to company polices and procedure.
- Meets the attendance guidelines of the department.
- Assumes overall responsibility for the timely, complete, and correct reporting of all revenue and associated gaming taxes.
- Maintains constant awareness of activities of all areas assigned to observe and act appropriately in the event of any suspicious or irregular activity.
- Creating scheduled and financial reports that are directly received by Senior and Executive staff members.
- Also responsible for audit preparation and review reports prepared for and by outside monitoring agencies.
- Provides and monitors on-the-job training for Revenue Audit department to ensure staff receives adequate guidance, resources, and information for adequate job performance.
- Provide feedback on performance to Revenue Audit team members through coaching and evaluation.
- Completes all company required training within designated time frames.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or Finance from an accredited university preferred; or 2 to 3 years of progressive experience in gaming audit functions. Experience in internal audit a plus.
- Must possess an in-depth knowledge of internal and accounting control procedures of gaming operations.
- Must possess the following computer program skills at an intermediate/advanced level: Infinium, CMS (or similar casino system), SDS (Bally’s Slot Data System. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Access database software.
- Applicant should be customer service oriented with good communication skills and present a well-groomed appearance. Must be able to get along well with co-workers and work as a team.
