Key job responsibilities
As a Software Development Manager you will -
- Manage a highly talented and motivated team of software engineers to architect, develop, test and deploy high quality software solutions with a dedicated customer focus.
- Be a technical leader that is not afraid to challenge the norms and innovate.
- Manage and execute against project plans and delivery commitments.
- Develop relationships with internal and external partner teams. Be the evangelist and point of contact for your team.
- Manage departmental resources: hiring, mentoring, career management and maintaining a high performing team.
- Develop the long-term strategy for your systems, while aligning them to the goals of the organization and translate that into an achievable road map.
- Collaborate with peer leaders to ensure your strategies are in alignment with the rest of the organization.

- Motivational people manager who leads by listening and collaborating.
- Drive a culture of excellence, grow and mature a young team to take them to the next level.
- Be an excellent communicator, both verbal and written, and equally adept at communicating upwards and downwards.

Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of engineering team management experience
- 7+ years of engineering experience
- 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
