Position Summary:

This temporary Buildings and Grounds Maintenance Technician will report to the Carroll School Director of Facilities and work Monday - Friday 9:00 am - 5:00 pm. With supervision and direction, this person will work on a diverse range of activities including school building maintenance, minor repairs and renovation, grounds work, and related tasks as required. Experience plowing snow is preferred. Some evening and weekend work may be required. This is an immediate opening.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the ongoing day-to-day maintenance of school buildings, classrooms, and equipment
• Perform minor repairs
• Support event setup and breakdown
• Safely operate equipment and clean machinery after each use
• Inspect all machines and report any deficiencies to the Director of Facilities
• Assist with directing traffic during student drop-off and pick-up as well as events 
• Manage campus exterior spaces including landscaping, play areas, roadways, etc. Experience plowing snow is preferred.
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• 2 years of experience in buildings and grounds and facilities maintenance
• Knowledge of methods and materials used in groundskeeping, landscaping, maintenance work
• A true team player with a high level of integrity, a strong work ethic and a professional demeanor
• Ability to follow written and oral instruction and ability to address time-sensitive requests in a professional and thorough manner
• Comfortable with technology
• Able to work outside in all elements
• Able to drive school vehicles, traverse campus on foot, lift up to 50 lbs
• Prior experience in a school environment preferred
