Verdantas is a national consulting group seeking a talented Environmental Engineer to join our team in the Orlando, FL Office.

We are seeking an Environmental Engineer to join our team and play a crucial role in advancing our environmental initiatives. As an Environmental Engineer, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with professional experts to make a difference in the communities that we live in. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Performs complex field tasks, including data measurement and collection, operation and maintenance of remediation systems, troubleshooting, construction observation, and environmental drilling oversight
• Coordinates internal resources and subcontractors
• Reviews regulations and standards to conduct technical studies and carries out project design and permitting work
• Prepares field notes and related documentation in accordance with company standards
• Prepares submittals, including proposals, estimates of cost, regulatory and client submittals, regulatory permit applications, and design packages
• Maintains and runs reports using internal databases 
• Retrieves necessary data using online databases, off-line records, and other means 
• Applies knowledge of federal, state, and local regulatory requirements and regulatory programs

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering
• 5-8 years of relevant experience with at least one year of HEC Software (e.g., HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS) experience
• EIT or PE certification required 
• Experience developing a fully integrated design package and working with AutoCAD in a professional environment
• Excellent written and research skills
• Ability to conduct fieldwork with some heavy lifting
• Proficient with MS Office suite of products, database experience preferred 
• 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training a plus
• Previous consulting experience is a plus
• Must have a personal vehicle for independent transportation to work sites
• Must have a valid driver's license
• Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening
• Must be able to obtain security clearance
