The posted compensation range of $158,684 to 238,035 annually is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay Nebraska Medicine in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting.  Actual compensation for this particular role will be determined at the time of offer based on years of relevant experience.

  • Providing legal support for Nebraska Medicine and its related entities including providing operational leaders with effective legal advice to help solve problems and coordinate  legal and business considerations spanning a broad range of health care law.   

  • Providing legal advice and regulatory support to a variety of departments within the organization such as Risk Management, Social Work, the Medical Staff Office, and healthcare operational leaders across the organization on a broad range of patient care issues, hospital operation issues, and healthcare regulatory matters.

  • Drafting and providing legal review of a variety of contracts, agreements, and other documents ensuring they comply with applicable laws and regulations (including the Stark Law, the Anti-Kickback Statute, and applicable privacy statutes and regulations) as well as minimize risk and protect the interests of the organization.

  • Researching, analyzing, and interpreting legal and regulatory requirements and determining any implications for Nebraska Medicine and providing advice on implementation of any changes necessary to comply with those requirements.

Required Qualifications:  Associate General Counsel
•    Five (5) years practicing in a law firm or in-house legal department in one or more of the areas identified above required.
•    Experience drafting and negotiating contracts required.
•    Juris doctorate (JD) degree required.
•    High ethical standards and integrity required.
•    Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while still demonstrating good judgment required.
•    Exceptional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills required.
•    Strong analytical skills required.
•    Ability to prioritize and manage a diverse and constantly changing workload in a fast-paced environment required.
•    License to practice law in good standing in Nebraska required. If not licensed in Nebraska, must be licensed in good standin
