About the role
Job Description Summary
The Wind Global Contractor Safety Program Lead is responsible for supporting EHS specifically in the areas of contractor, partner and customer management, while supporting other EHS activities as assigned. This position will oversee the implementation of both the One Wind and GE Vernova Contractor Management requirements and will work with a broad stakeholder ground including Sourcing/Procurement, Finance, Operations, Projects, Manufacturing and Offices/Engineering business segments, global EHS, Commercial, and external customers and contractor partners. The role will report to the Wind Global Operations and Center of Excellence EHS Leader. This role will be responsible for driving excellence across the organization regarding developing consistent and standard contractor management programs and expectations.This position will also be partnering cross functionally, with both internal and external stakeholders, to ensure all aspects of contractor safety programs are both implemented and actively utilized to drive sustainable improvement both in the Wind organization and GE Vernova. This includes but is not limited to managing the One Wind Contractor Management program, integrating learnings and benchmarking industry best practices, providing EHS input into bid packages for GE Vernova customers scopes during tendering (ITO), working with contractor partners on proactive and reactive performance reviews, performing field audits and verifications, and reviewing data and trends related to contractor safety performance KPIs for internal and external stakeholder review.
The role also requires depth of understanding of EHS risks, operational and legal contractual requirements during tendering (ITO) phase, including being able to review and provide detailed advice on EHS costs and mitigation plans to the Commercial team, and where necessary re-writing contractual requirements with applicable EHS language, while maintaining full regulatory compliance for Project opportunities/bids.
Finally, this role will also provide input and support the wider Wind EHS team as we work to build one successful GE Vernova team.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
- Lead One Wind Contractor Safety Management program, including Framework standardization and implementation across Wind, with a priority focus on High-Risk Operations tied to the GE Vernova Life Saving Rules (e.g., Hazardous Energy/Live Electrical, Mechanical Lifting, Work at Heights, and Line of Fire), coordinating cross-regional team to drive consistent application and implementation across the business.
- Integrate and operationalize GE Vernova Contractor Safety core technical program expectations into the One Wind organization.
- Robust understanding of Contractor Safety EHS programs and digitized applications such as Gensuite, ComplyWorks, ISNet World, Avetta, SharePoint, etc.
- Mange proactive and reactive (e.g., performance improvement plans/mitigations) with contractor partners and Wind stakeholders to support adherence to GE Vernova Wind EHS expectations.
- Conduct Contractor Safety EHS audits and provide detailed reports on findings and necessary actions.
- Work with regional teams to support contractor safety focus activities.
- Serve as a coach and mentor to team in order drive excellence and robustness in GE Vernova EHS Contractor Safety Programs and core deliverables.
- Collaborate with Wind CoE Team members and regional contractor safety resources to drive program improvements and perform audit/assurance reviews.
- Proactively partner and develop positive working relationships with cross-functional personnel.
Qualifications/Requirements
- 7-10 years’ experience supporting Contractor Safety programs
- Bachelor of Science in Occupational Health and Safety or technical equivalent from an accredited college or university, or equivalent qualification
- Certified Health and Safety professional
- Prior experience in Wind industry and/or construction fields
- Significant experience and demonstrated achievements with safety programs, industry standards, and regulatory requirements
- Medical fitness and ability to work at height per local and global standards
- Knowledge of EHS management systems
- Fluent English with strong communication skills (verbal and written)
