Program Project Manager

3M is establishing two industry-leading companies, creating value through the spin-off of its Health Care business, while 3M will continue to be a global material science leader, focusing our innovation to win in favorable global megatrends and attractive end markets. The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Project Manager of the Strategic Materials Supply Continuity Program, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world.

Our projects are at the forefront of medical device technology, focusing particularly on the use and integration of adhesives, chemicals and materials. Your role will be pivotal in steering these projects towards success, making a significant impact in the medical field. Previous experience in medical devices, particularly with adhesives and chemicals, is highly regarded.

Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Assisting the Program VP in developing and implementing strategies specific to the supply continuity program upon the separation from 3M. Project management specific projects in exploration and evaluation of alternative or/and new technologies that can secure supply independence.
  • Leads cross-functional teams to deliver project milestones on time, within budget, and in alignment with the strategic objectives of the program. This includes effective management of project scope, resources, value proposition, technical approaches, manufacturing options, stakeholder communication ultimately leading to successful realization of the program solution(s).
  • Implements project management best practices to ensure the smooth execution and completion of projects. This involves establishing clear project plans, risk management strategies, and quality control measures to meet the high standards required in the medical device or regulated industry.
  • Determines project requirements and objectives by conducting detailed needs analyses, feasibility studies, and consultations with internal stakeholders and external partners. This role requires a keen ability to collaborate with the technical team to translate complex material and chemical specifications and performance requirements into actionable project plans.
  • Willingness to be on-call as needed to address critical project issues or emergencies. This position requires a high level of dedication and flexibility, acknowledging that timely responses can be crucial to project success and continuity of supply.

Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in an Engineering or Science discipline from an accredited University  AND minimum of 7 years of in the healthcare/chemical industry a private, public or governmental environment

In addition to the above requirements, the following are also required:

  • Minimum of 3 years of project management and/or team leadership
