At Blue Origin, we envision millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. We’re working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight!

This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin’s Blue Moon landers and related products. To further Blue Origin's mission of millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface.

As Manager for Habitation Systems, you will lead and build a hardworking team of engineers and designers responsible for delivering the hardware that enables astronauts to live and work within the MK2-Crew Lunar Lander.

You will be both a technical oversight to the design and success of these programs, as well as an advocate for the career growth of your direct reports.  You will develop verifiable requirements and use-cases, including those critical to the crew interface, in conjunction with affected systems and internal stakeholders.  You will lead the execution through concept of operations, prototyping, preliminary design, detailed design, Human in the Loop testing, analysis, procurement, manufacture, qualification and acceptance test, and verification. You will lead your team through interfacing with systems and stakeholders throughout the life cycle of the hardware development, developing technical solutions and executing development, testing, and analysis to support technology maturation, trade studies, and down-selects.

As a Team Manager reporting to the Product Team Senior Manager, you will be responsible for cultivating an evolving, rightsized workforce; overseeing performance, merits, and promotions; shepherding team members' careers through coaching, opportunity matching, and technical development; benchmarking their work standards and tools with other Blue Origin business units and with industry trends; and assuring that the Team’s work products meet domain quality standards.

We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is required!
