The Opportunity :
As the Senior Accountant, you will lead the company’s accounting operations, oversee day-to-day financial processes, and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations. Reporting to the Finance & BizOps Lead, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping our financial systems, streamlining processes, and supporting strategic decision-making in a high-growth environment.
This is a hands-on role that combines operational expertise with the opportunity to help build the financial infrastructure of a rapidly scaling tech startup.
This job is hybrid/remote, with preference to be located in either Menlo Park or Los Angeles. Regardless of location, it will adhere to Pacific Time working hours.
Key Responsibilities:
Budgeting & Financial Reporting:
Assist in developing budgets and forecasts, analyzing variances, and identifying margin improvement opportunities
Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting
Perform monthly reconciliations for bank accounts, credit cards, and other key accounts
Submit financial statements to investors and other stakeholders as required
Tax Management:
Work with external tax advisors to ensure timely preparation and filing of tax returns, including monthly sales tax filings
Monitor and ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal tax requirements
Compliance & Audit:
Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and other applicable accounting standards
Prepare for audits by maintaining accurate records and documentation
Accounts Payable & Receivable:
Oversee AP/AR processes, ensuring timely invoicing, collections, and payments
Review employee expense submissions, ensuring adherence to company policies
Process Improvement & Scalability:
Identify and implement improvements to accounting systems and processes to support the company’s growth
Partner with the Finance & BizOps lead to design scalable financial infrastructure, including accounting policies and internal controls
Support cross functional FP&A processes by providing key financial data and analyses
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or equivalent certification strongly preferred
4–6 years of professional accounting experience, preferably a mix of accounting firm and startup environment
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles
Proficiency with accounting software (we currently use Quickbooks) and Excel/Google Sheets
Experience with financial planning and analysis (FP&A)
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
Project management experience with ability to influence cross functional teams
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment

Location: Close to Menlo Park headquarters or Los Angeles is preferred
Working Hours: Pacific Time
Travel: up to 20% if not located in the Bay Area
Compensation: $100,000 - $125,000 plus stock options
